RIAA Insanity-Suing People For Ripping CD's They Purchased This article was one of the more concise ones I could find. The comments after it are worth reading too. In a nutshell, it would seem like the RIAA wants to make it illegal for people to rip their legally-purchased CDs onto their own personal computers for their own personal use...like, say, to make mix CDs or load songs onto a digital media player.
I wonder, are they trying to get people to stop listening to music, or drive them to use digital download services only? Do they want artists to drop their labels and publish independently, hopefully bypassing all of this nonsense?
I'm curious to see where this will go in the next few years.
