Housekeeping and Friends Only Journal
Hi everyone!
I started my Livejournal in 2005 at the time the LOTR fandom was at its height. In the early days, most of the people on my friends list were those that moved over to LJ from the Forums in TORC and K-D. It was a great time, where everyone had the same focus on what was going on with the LOTR movies. I loved it. As time went by, I gathered some new friends (or in many cases, friends of friends).
There were other communities that catered to my interest in digital photography which, sadly, have gone by the wayside. It's normal that interest in your "obsession" loses focus as the spotlight fades. The same happened with my early love of Star Trek. I was involved in our local club for 14 years. Then it ended as people found other things to focus on.
I've since moved on to the Doctor Who fandom. Absolutely loving it! I even have another LJ account ten_dr_rose dedicated to this new obsession. There are a few observations on this and that - and some short stories. Even so, I'm mostly talking to myself over there, too! It seems that a lot of people are leaving LJ in general. Oh, well. That's life. :)
What I'm getting around to is that I believe it's time to do a little housekeeping. There are several people on my friends list who haven't posted to LJ in several years, so I thought now is as good a time as any to go through the list and remove them.
However, if you have received notification that you have been removed, or you are someone who knows me off-LJ and would still like to keep in touch by reading my occasional entries, please let me know and I will reinstate you on my friends list straight away!
Even though I've never officially announced that this is a friends-only journal, that's pretty much what it's been for quite a while now. I usually only post entries about family and personal matters. So, if you aren't on my friends list and would like to be included, please send me a reply to this post and I will consider your request!
