The Zoo and Laptops

We went to the zoo yesterday, and it was terrific! :D they have this new shark-petting pool, and it was wonderful! The only thing is that it was extra crowded. D: There was also this spazzy shark, and this lady ran around telling us not to pet THAT shark. XD It was really creepy! It had bulging eyes and kept its nose out of the water. D: The dolphin show was cool, but Anna and I sat in the splash zone while everybody else went up. Our dolphin refused to cooperate with its trainer, which was kinda funny, but I also didn't get wet. >:o She was trying extra hard to get it to do stuff, and when it finally DID make a splash, it got the other two sections. :( The other side of the pool had a spastic dolphin that LOVED splashing, even when the guy was trying to talk. I also rode the roller coaster and the train ride before we had to leave. :) I'm a bit disappointed that we didn't get to see the plains exhibit because that is AWESOME. the best exhibit besides the oceans one, imho.

Afterwards, Joel went to work, taking Rina home, and the rest of us (Ryan, Matt, Anna, and me) went to Anna's house to eat our picnic food there. Then Matt and I left to go take Rina computer shopping, and we found an AWESOME laptop for $400--but the sale ended last night! So I called my parents and asked them for the money (I hadn't cashed my check yet), and we started shopping around. NOBODY had a deal as good as that. I mean, it's not a GREAT laptop, but it's a good one and it'll last me a good four years--and in only two years, my pharmacy program will give me an awesome laptop for free. We went to Fry's Electronics up in Fishers to compare sales, and the guy was like "Yeah, we don't have a deal near as good as that here. I'd definitely go to Circuit City." A bunch of people were standing around, and this mom pips up, saying "Well, we're going to Circuit City then!" There was a MAD dash for the door, and Rina, Matt and I were in flip-flops. We were parked fairly close, so we got out of the parking lot pretty quickly. Matt sped down to Castleton's Circuit City, and we were the first ones. We ran to the back where the laptops were, and the guy (Miles) started flirting with all of us. But we got our laptops and waited in line. And since we had done our shopping earlier, we told Miles which offers we wanted (like the extra $45 1 gig RAM) and which ones we didn't (like the free $80 LexMark printer). So both Rina and I got identical computer yesterday when we didn't intend to. Impulsive shopping? Yes. Was it good? You bet it was. :) We all went over to Matt's the afterwards and installed Office 2007 and installed our own RAM. :)

Incidentally, I'm really glad that Matt and I are back to the way we were. I think graduating and not seeing each other every day really helped us value each other more. Though now, we pretty much DO see each other every other day...but it's by choice, not convenience. :)
