Other Updates
The rest of this has nothing to do with A-Kon and is just my life in general.
The bad news: my grandfather is dying. He's in the hospital with cogestive heart failure, his kidneys are failing and he hasn't been lucid since Saturday night. And, since he's 93 years old, they can't use any aggressive treatments. Basically, I'm waiting for a phone call. So, if I suddenly disappear, I'm probably in Austin at a funeral.
Apartment news (because callmeang wanted to know): most of my furniture is up and almost all of my boxes are unpacked. I still have three boxes of books that need to be taken care of plus three more back in College Station. And I need to get my real dining room table.
When I first moved in, I had the excitement of one of my breakers dying. I had to lock poor Gem in my room for two days while they dealt with it. I felt bad for doing that to my baby. Especially when I walked into my apartment after work and she immediately started crying. Other than that, everything is moved in. I still need to take pictures and post them.
Cat news: Gem is doing well. She's incredibly social, so she's always climbing all over me. She likes it when I pick her up and hold her near the pull cord for the light in my room. I don't know how many times she's tried to eat the damn thing. She also likes to sit behind my laptop and play with my fingers as I type.
She continues to earn her nickname: Goober. She has a thing for paper and likes it when I throw down little balls of it. She actually rips it up and eats it. The only bad thing is that I have to vacuum regularly.
And I think the funniest thing she does right now is that, while I'm in the shower, she'll sit in the bathroom and cry. She's even started to worm her way into the shower because she couldn't find me. It was cute. And disturbing.
And now it's time for me to head home. Have a good evening, all! I'm gonna try and post one more thing tonight...if I remember.
