I detest when people use "their" as if it were some sort of neuter singular pronoun.

I don't know, I leave it up to each individual... it's their choice.

You realize that the use of "their" is absolutely grammatically correct. Or, more to the point, no less correct than "he" - "their" is simply numerically incorrect, whereas "he" is incorrect on the gender axis.

The rule about not using "their" or "they" was an act of errant pendantry by 18th century grammarians who assumed (incorrectly) that Latin was the parent of English, and that therefore English should use the Latin rules of grammar.

Since we're being nitpicky.

I didn't say it was wrong, I just said that I hated it. Since we're being nitpicky.

You're not alone. But I think you knew that.

The man who wrote that couldn't speak a fucking word of English until he was 21. JEALOUS.

And why do I know that particular rule of grammar? That's right, boys and girls, because of people who criticise Star Trek. ("To go boldly . . . ")

So really what you're saying here is that bad grammar has driven you to a existence full of ire and malice.

I hope this is a lesson to each and every one of youse.
