Again, for what? the 9th year? we helped tear down the quilts at this world class show. It really is a great show, with dazzling artwork. I am of the opinion that about half the quilts we saw should not have been in the quilt show at all, but in the Getty Museum, or some other high falutin' art museum. They are that amazing. Yup. It was NOT a MaedbMonday as I skipped the day altogether. Almost. I wasn't hurting in the morning and afternoon, but was so exhausted I couldn't even lift an eyelid for more than a moment or two. Almost. Jeezo-pete, it's Thursday! Jamie was home last night instead of at fighter practice and it threw me off. Oops. I thought I had missed my Wednesday morning quilt group (yet again), so I focused my day on building a quilt top. Sort of an atonement. Yes, Leslie won first place in the quilt competition and hers will be going to Houston with the other winners. On a first quilt. hehehehe

So the tea party/challenge quilt competition was today. Ask me who won FIRST for their NOVICE quilt? Here's a clue - it wasn't me. I can wait half an hour to spill the beans, though. She better post quick. I can't guarantee anything beyond 30 minutes.

Okay, I overdid it a little bit today. The pain was so bad that I went up to bed at 8:30, and with company in the house. Jamie came up a bit later and taped my back. Well, the boy is a keeper. I don't know how he did it, but he did. I now have an Accuquilt diecutter for fabrics. With all the dies. I do not have to stand up to cut quilt pieces. I'm a bit confined to the sizes and shapes, but that is a confinement I am much happier with than the alternative (taking a week to recover from cutting stuff before I ( Read more... )
