Oh... oh God.
In a very circuitous route, I discovered that, in the next issue of Buffy: Season Eight, Buffy has a one-night stand with a fellow Slayer. And yeah, I'm well aware that all Slayers are women.
You go ahead and do the math.
Now, I'm not "oh-my-God"-ing over the fact that Buffy's having a same-sex experience. I could care less, to be honest (I'm all about the Giles, who, sadly, doesn't show up in these damn comics too much).
I'm "oh-my-God"-ing over what Johnny O and Uncle Jean are going to say when they see the comic. Because they're middle-aged men and they love Buffy and they love women and I'm sure, to quote Xander, that they've thought about two women doin' a spell... and then they do a spell by themselves, and I'm basically going to be supplying them with comic-book-drawn post-lesbian-sex porn, and the thought of what they're going to say to me afterwards makes me feel all icky.
I mean, their heroine for years is now fulfilling their fantasy and getting involved with another woman? It's like ... Christmas for men!
And I just realized that Uncle Jean won't be showing this issue to his eleven-year-old daughter. Heh.
Maybe I'll skip this issue. It may be better for all involved.
