After a marathon session of writing, I've finished the pilot script for University. As soon as this nor'easter blows through, I'm heading to Staples to make copies - one for Emily, one for Sarah, one for Jen (then I can finally mail those packages, and then I am going to have to promise to NEVER MAIL ANYTHING AGAIN, because I CAN'T - there's a physical force field or something around my post office that WON'T LET ME IN or something), and then one copy for Dad, and another copy for Brad and Uncle Jean to read so I can get notes, notes, NOTES!
I also watched the first two hours of Drive, the new thriller series on Fox.
Okay, first of all, I was convinced that Mr. Bright (a.k.a. Charles Martin Smith) was someone who had a bit part in an X-Files or something and I originally thought it was the guy who played Jose Chung, but apparently he was in "F. Emasculata," an episode I don't recall seeing. But ALMOST BETTER THAN THAT, apparently, this guy directed "Welcome to the Hellmouth," the first episode ever of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which, thinking about it, wasn't that actually Joss Whedon? Goddammit, IMDB, you should be better than that!
But as for the show - it was interesting. It has Nathon Fillion of Firefly fame, who is quite awesome even though I never watched Firefly but Johnny O tells me I should. Also, Amy Acker plays his kidnapped wife (i.e., the leverage for getting him into The Race, and yes, apparently it should be capitalized), and with Charles Martin Smith apparently directing "Welcome to the Hellmouth," all three Whedon series are connected! Woo ... ?
I love the driving, mostly because my deep desire is to be a stunt car driver (and with a desire like that, it's a miracle I've only got two tickets in the seven years I've been driving), so for me, that's totally worth it.
The main problem I'm sensing? There are many plotlines, and either they need to get trimmed or intermingled so it could be easier to follow. There are too many pretty girls, and I can't always remember what team they're on. It'll be interesting to see what Television Without Pity thinks about it.
And holy crap, the chick playing Corrinna was in an episode of The X-Files that I actually remember watching! Crazy "Kill/Switch" chick! That was a fun episode!
But I'm telling you - if the Finish Line somehow involves a Giant W, I'm DONE.
Speaking of done, I am. Sporadic posts, then three posts within 24 hours? Crazy.
