So I saw Skyfall. To be perfectly honest, I've seen it twice. Wednesday night I braved the first Nor'easter of the season to see it on IMAX at midnight.
@WillBeFunOrElse: This is the saddest midnight showing I've ever been to. There are 3 other people in line, and 2 other nerds waiting to join later.
@WillBeFunOrElse: I mean, I've been to sad midnight shows, but my sister made it better because she let me sneak in booze. #NewMoonforthosewhocare #shutup
@WillBeFunOrElse: Right now, the line for #Skyfall is me, a family who should be on the Biggest Loser, and 3 other male geeks. #brethren #nowstoptalking
@WillBeFunOrElse: #Skyfall update: 16 minutes left, and I'm the only girl in the theater full of douchebags. Shut up all of you, or I'll #SMASHSTAB your asses.
They shut up. And then I got a poster!
Then last night, I was able to get out of the store in enough time to make the 9:45 show at the theater near the mall, and yeah, I saw it again. I will be seeing it a third time, and I might even see it a fourth time.
The third time I'll have to see it with my dad: that was what he wanted for his birthday. For the entire family to have dinner, and then go see Skyfall. The fourth time, well --
You may have noticed that I haven't cut for spoilers. I'm not going to. Meaning, I'm not going to discuss the movie beyond I FUCKING LOVED IT. But I have some thinky thoughts going on in my brain after watching the movie, and I think it may turn into an essay in the future. I don't know.
I think I need to watch it a couple more times. On the time I don't see it with Dad, I'll bring a notebook and take notes like a true critic. And don't fear - the essay won't have anything to do with the storyline, or anything weighty like that. It won't take away any enjoyment from the movie. I just ... I have thoughts. And I feel like I need to put them to paper. So to speak.
But seriously. If you love James Bond (and loving Daniel Craig as James Bond is just a bonus at this point, honestly), GO SEE SKYFALL. You won't regret it.
