Netflix Instant Viewing

Aug 19, 2007 00:21

I woke up sort of late today... not a huge surprise, though.  I got in a couple episodes of Death Note and maybe half a volume of Fruits Basket (from the library) before I had to dash off to work again.  The shift was one of the 5-hour things, which means only one 15 minute break.  They gave it to me after 4 hours.  Luckily, though, a spent an hour or two of the 4 on flatbed so it wasn't as hard as it would have been.  (Still ended up with a headache, but I imagine that was more connected to sleep deprivation.  ^^;)

On a side note, my workplace is already selling stuff for Halloween.  This translates to huge inflatable haunted houses and creepy carriages by the door, plus a life-size pirate skeleton that talks and laughs evilly when you walk by him.  I actually was rather amused by it the first time I walked by...

I got back home safe and sound (I had to walk), then sat down to watch the Read or Die OVA.  I bought the TV series earlier this summer (for really cheep ^^), but since the OVA came first I wanted to watch it before seeing the series.  I was watching prices on it, but then I found out it's one of the few anime things that Netflix has for instant viewing!  My mom gets 9 hours a month of instant viewing, and she said I could use some if I wanted since she probably wouldn't.  The new month starts on Monday, so I decided today was a good day for it.

As for the OVA, I enjoyed it quite a bit; it was slightly humorous and the characters were pretty likable, despite the fact that I had to watch the dubbed version (the drawback of instant viewing).  The music was good as well.  It was a bit standard overall, but I had a great time watching it and that was what mattered...  I think I'm going to enjoy the series.  : )

Only 6 days till Saturday!  Bonus points to whomever can tell me what else is special about that day.  ; )
