Sleep = good. Energy drinks before sleep = bad.

Oh man, what insomnia I had last night.

First, I had this short paper (600 words is considered short in my university standards) to write for this morning. So, of course I waited...and waited... and finally started it around 10:30pm. And finished it around 1am because I get so easily distracted. Thoroughly annoyed at that.

And since I was already tired to begin with, I had the bright (read: very dumb) idea to take not one, but TWO energy drinks. I finished the second one around midnight, which of course means that the effects didn't disperse until around 2. This would have been understandable within the circumstances, and I would have lived with the consequences.

But my brain just wouldn't STOP.

It took me till at least 2:30 to fall asleep the first time. I popped awake around 5, fell back asleep, and woke up at 7:40, a full twenty minutes before my alarm. Which annoyed me greatly.

What didn't help was that it was just nonsense that kept popping up in my head! Like, a random song would just start playing, and I had to tell my brain to shut the hell up or else I was gonna make it suffer. Since I have no power over my brain, it took about three threats before it even listened to me. I also thought about having my mom over at some point in the future, for a weekend or something. This is after refusing to have her even come to Montreal last summer.

So this will be a promising day. Class at 11:30 until 2 (haven't done the readings for that class yet, leaving to do that now), work from 5 till max 9:30. I'm actually hoping to get some time for a nap on the student society couches... oh so comfy...
