God Damn Texas
It's like a whole other country... and the rest of America wishes to God it were!
The latest news from Texas is that the Republicans in the Texas Senate have voted to fine their Democrat colleagues $5000 per day until they come back from New Mexico. The Dems have fled to avoid being arrested after refusing to vote on a gerrymandering scheme (a vote the Democrats can't but lose) that will give the Republicans more seats in the U.S. Congress. Traditionally, redistricting in Texas is done every ten years following the U.S. census. The last redistricting took place two years ago.
Just one more reason we should trade Texas to Mexico for a couple cases of fine añejo.
