CSI:NY part 25

"Don, the sink's lost pressure again. Kinda hard to wash the dishes when it takes 30 minutes to get enough water."

Don came into the kitchen, topless, straight from the shower.

"I'll let the doorman know on the way out. Forget all that for a bit, we have plenty of time before we have to be at work," Don murmured as he wrapped Danny in his arms, kissing his neck.

After a few seconds, Danny put down the plate he was holding, turning to return the kiss. Thankfully, they had an alarm set for 45 minutes before roll-call, otherwise their blissful haze would have made them late for work. When Danny realized the alarm was going off, he was sitting on the prep counter, legs around Don's hips.

"Gotta get to work. I'll get the groceries on the way home." Don managed to say between leaving nips all over Danny's neck and shoulders. None of them would last more than an hour, but that was long enough to embarrass him in the locker room.

It was almost a week later, and there was no indication that a plumber had been arranged. The building council meeting was that Thursday, so Danny made a note to go, to ask if they were the only ones having trouble getting maintenance.

"This meeting is called to order. Any new business?"

"Yes. I wish to bring up the question of whether my unit is the only one having trouble getting maintenance workers to come. We've been telling the doorman almost every day for the past month, and no one's come yet. I know there's a dedicated plumber, so why is my sink still without pressure?"

"I've had no trouble. My bathroom faucet leak was fixed the next day."

"My bedroom has water damage, and no one's made an effort to fix it in three months, and I've told the doorman about 40 times."

"You two must be the only ones then. Are you sure you're telling Reynolds, not another resident?"

"He's the only man in a bright red overcoat around here."

"And which units are you?"

Danny replied, "4D" and the young woman said, "6A."

The president said she'd talk to the plumber directly to see if he'd been getting the requests, and checking Reynolds' log of requests. With no other business, the meeting was adjourned.

"Ah, young man. You were the one from 4D who had concerns?"

"Yes. Was there some kind of miscommunication?"

"It seems so. You know that for the most part, the residents have been living here since they were young newlyweds 40 or 50 years ago. It seems Reynolds has a bit of a grudge against you new ones."

"But the ownership isn't new, our unit belonged to Donny's grandmother. And I think Susan's was her uncle's. And we're not obnoxious or anything."

"There's no explaining it. From now on, we're installing a drop box for the handyman company. Someone from the handyman company will check Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings for repair requests, and arrange the repairs with the owners of the units. We’ll also circulate a number in the next few days for emergency repairs."

"Thank you for your help."

"You and your young man are quite welcome," the little old lady replied with a grin, as she walked off.
