Day 7:
That day we did go to Union Warf and got awesome bread! It's stale now because I didn't eat it fast enough but it was amazing when it was fresh. Someday I'll have to get more. We also went to Pier 39 and looked in some shops. I bought a few things, including a t-shirt. I was such a tourist it was kind of fantastic. At the bread place we had lunch/dinner. I had a grilled cheese sandwich on sourdough and a ceasar salad. Both were fantastic.
After lunch/dinner, we took the bus back up to Kendra's house so we could get changed. We had plans to go to a club with some of her friends. The friends that I had met the night before and a couple other people as well. I was pretty excited because I've never been to a club before. Yeah, that's right. Still haven't been to a club, but let me tell the story.
Basically Kendra told me that it's no fun going to a club if you're sober and I totally believe her. I really don't think I'd have fun sober at a club. I mean think about it. It's basically like a high school dance except with creepy old guys and everyone else is probably drunk. So we made some mixed drinks and took a shot each before heading over to the dorm at SF State where we were meeting her friends. Tipsy as we were, we both did and said some silly things on the way there.
When we got to SF State, there were a few more drinks to be had, and another shot too. I didn't really want to take the shot, because honestly shots make me feel icky and they're gross. Bleck. But I took it anyways. Soon enough we left the dorm to go catch a bus to the club. Actually it was kind of a train thing... it went underground and stuff... Anyways! We just barely missed the first one, as in we were running to catch it and it drove away, so we had to wait for the next one. It wasn't a long wait and it was fun talking to the people we were hanging out with. They were really nice people.
On the train I had an interesting conversation with that Chris guy we were hanging out with the night before. His family are basically millionaires. I expressed my shock about the flippant way he talked about FOUR MILLION DOLLARS. And about the way he said "You can't do much with A MILLION DOLLARS." I was like, "I could do everything in the world with A MILLION DOLLARS!!!" It was a cool and interesting conversation though. At some point we got off the train and started walking up a hill to get to the club. We met up with a few others in our group on the way there and I got to meet even more people! I really don't remember their names. I feel a little bad, but hey, I was drunk. Somehow we obtained more booze and paused in what was a sort of outdoor eating area next to this hotel. There I had two more shots. One of whipped cream flavored vodka and the other of some kind of rum. Yuck. Have I mentioned how I hate the taste of alcohol? I'm not going to be drinking again for a while.
Eventually we made it to the club, and yeah, we were pretty trashed by then. We got the tickets because we had our names on a list and we were going to get in for free, then we got in line. We stood there for a while waiting, got patted down and were sent to the next check level. At the next level, they told Kendra that she was too drunk and needed to go talk to the bouncer and since I was with her, so did I. We went over and the guy asked us how old we were and how much we'd had to drink. We lied of course. About the how much we had, not the age. And we didn't deny that we'd had some. The bouncer told us to go away for a bit and sober up and that we could come back when we were sober. Well, Kendra was determined to get in so we just got right back in line. We waited for another 10 or so minutes, rinse and repeat. Kendra wanted to get in line again after the bouncer had turned us away for a second time, but I told her we should just go. We were actually pretty trashed, even if she didn't want to admit it.
We ended up getting a cab and going back to her place. The rest of the night was fairly uneventful. Except for all the puking. Yeah, did I mention about not drinking again any time soon? I hate doing shots.
Day 8:
That day I was down for the count. I was fantastically hung over from the night before and not interested in going anywhere or doing anything. I hoped I would be able to pull myself together for the rooftop OK GO show, but when the time to leave came around, it was not happening. Kendra went though, and apparently it was really cool. A bunch of free food etc etc. I just lay in bed all day, feeling mildly sick and watching HIMYM and BtVS. I was actually pretty please with my day. Later that evening when Kendra and her friend came back from the show we went out to dinner. Sushi again and I was actually really pleased. I still wasn't feeling 100% but it was doable. After dinner we went back to Kendra's and watched Golden Girls. They were drinking again and I fell asleep pretty quickly.
