Day 6

Feb 04, 2011 11:04

Yesterday we planned to go to Japan Town when Kendra got off work. She had work from 10:30-2 which wasn't bad, and we had plenty of time to hang around Japan Town because her class at 5 was canceled! Kendra left for work and was back about 20 minutes later after she got there and they told her that she didn't actually have work that day. It was pretty great, so we decided to head over to Japan Town early.

Japan Town was awesome. It was like Uwajimaya but in mall form. There were a bunch of restaurants too and lots of little knick-knack shops. I bought quite a few things and I am very pleased with my purchases. We ate lunch at one of the restaurants there and I got new phone charms. My old ones were seriously dead. It was pretty sad. When we were done with lunch we took the bus back to her house. Let me tell you, this bus card thing is so much easier than carrying around money. I'm so glad I bought one.

When we got back to Kendra's she told me that a few of her friends were interested in going to this Valentine card making thing in an art gallery downtown. We left an hour later to go meet up with her friends. I met two girls and two guys and they were all really nice, cool people. About 5 minutes after meeting them I found out that one of the guys had just gotten a job at a dildo factory, which everyone thought was pretty hilarious. It was the returning topic for jokes for the rest of the night. Later I found out that it pays 12.50 an hour which I think is pretty great. Also the minimum wage in SF is 10 per hour because the cost of living is so insanely high here. I guess I'm going to have to get rich before I come live here.

The valentine card making at the art gallery was kinda fun, but really crowded and sort of meh. We left when we were done making our cards and decided to go somewhere to eat. It was between Hooters and The Rainforest Cafe. I know that sounds silly, but that's how it was. The two girls had somewhere else they needed to be so that left Kendra and me with the two guys. Chris, the one who didn't work at the dildo factory is very energetic, needs a lot of attention, is easily distracted, and doesn't stop talking ever. He's also a dead-givaway queen. You know when you can tell the second a guy opens his mouth? Yeah that's pretty much how it was. He's super adorable though. Even if he does kinda have a bad klepto habit.

Anyways, the four of us went  down to the Union Warf to go to Hooters, but we actually ended up going to the Rainforest Cafe. The food was pretty great. I forgot my leftovers though which was sad. We're going back to Union Warf today so I can buy a loaf of the best bread ever. Also we might go to In 'n Out Burger, which would be cool since I've never been to one but always wanted to since 10th grade when Mr. Gambill would rave about them.

On the way back to Kendra's on the bus, I recognized a few places. I'm pretty excited about getting to know this city. I can't wait to have more adventures today! Stay tuned~ <3
