Highlights yes/no??
Hey, madradhair-ers! I'm posting because I'm considering getting highlights in my hair. I've never dyed or bleached it or anything, but since I'm pooor I'd like to do it myself. I want to do some subtle highlights, but I'm not sure what the best way to go about doing it would be.

My sister says that I could just go over to sally's and mix a toner with a developer (?) and apply straight to my hair without bleaching, which would give me subtle highlights with minimal damage. Is this true?
Strategies/advice?
