So, a minor update on the past several days is in order.
1) Got back home Tuesday, more or less without a hitch. It truly is great to be home after a jaunt like the last one. Granted, home entails around the house repairs and work, going to my veritable cornucopia of jobs, and other related niceties, but nothing beats coming home to a clean house, and a clean room, and just sacking out for a while and not having to worry about being bothersome to someone elses lifestyle.
2) New Year's Eve was spent like the last three---working at the Restaurant. I was as busy as a one legged-man in an ass-kicking contest, but the trade-off was a very good night tip wise. And, to be perfectly honest, I'd rather be working or doing something relatively productive instead of sitting around on a holiday that does absolutely nothing for me. I would've stopped down to the Student Ghetto in Albany to see what was up at Nick's, but by the time I got out all I wanted was a giant martini and and overstuffed leather chair. Yep, I'm 50.
3) I need to get the radio situation squared-away in the Deerslayer. Ever since I retrieved it from the body shop, the radio has refused to function, for some reason unbeknownst to me. Most likely its a blown fuse, but I still gotta take it up to the dealership to have them run a diagnostic, as they're the only ones with the specialized VW tools to check the damn thing out. I love my little German car, don't get me wrong, but the teutonic complexitites of the little things on that machine become bothersome after a while.
4) Was gonna take a trip to Brooks Brothers tomorrow (well, at this point, today), but plans fell through. Maybe next weekend I'll get a chance to blow some of this Christmas loot that's burning a hole in my pocket.
5) Possible developments in the whole education department. Stay tuned for more info.
6) The fam. is going out of town for 15 days in Feb. However, due to school commitments, I shan't be joining them on their European adventure. Trade-off? 15 days of hedonism at the house.
7) Vacation seems to almost be dragging on this winter. Not that I'm one to knock four weeks off, but life at home when I'm not going to school is extraordinarily monotonous.
