On the road again....

A minor update as I sit in the airport, taking full advantage of the wireless LAN that beee-utiful Ft. Lauderdale offers.

1) The Fam's excursion to Florida has turned out better than expected. Though we are still lodging in pure cracker country, my mom's cousin is a great host, and things are very comfortable.

2) Drove 900 miles roundtrip to Hotlanta to see other family for Christmas. Mom realized after the trip that it might have been a bit too far for a three day jaunt altogether, but the weather was great and boy can that part of the family cook. I think I consumed somethingl like 3500 calories per day--no joke. It was like I was carbo-loading for long distance running, just without the long-distance running part.

3) Spent the past 29 hours here in Ft. Lauderdale chilling with Scotty J and the Nova crew. The weather has been amazing, went down to the beach, and even did some work with remedial debate kids. Oh, and not to mention some quality Brooks Brothers time at the Sawgrass Outlets. Yeah, times are tough all over.

4) So far I think I've read about a news magazine/journal/Foreign Policy type periodical per day. I haven't done this much current events cramming since high school. Thank God for vacations.

5) We're leaving on a jet plane tomorrow morning at Oh-Dark-Thirty to get back home, and I can't be more excited. Yeah, the weather is fantastic down here, and its low stress, but I hate living out of a duffel bag for more than three days at a time. (Read: AMDGs, we need to get together Tuesday night to plan some high-quality debauchery).

And with that, the longest journal update of the past several weeks, I'm going to UNO's to get some overpriced pizza.

Later kids.
