Over 100lbs of books seems excessive.
Let's back up.
Tyler took me box-shopping this morning, and Heather and Jess came over tonight. With their beyond-amazing help, I am now almost entirely packed.
There are some odds and ends. The exact contents of the carry-on has not been finalized. The pictures haven't gone into picture cartons. I'm sure there are 50 other things that still have to be done, that's the way of packing and moving: always more little fiddly things. When you hit the point where think you're just about done, that's usually something like 70%.
But let's not get hopeless about it. It's only Tuesday. Much has been accomplished. The bulk of it is boxed. I can see the general shape of the things that I own.
Seeing it all together always makes my skin crawl. Why so much stuff? Over 250 pounds of stuff. Just for me. That seems insane. The three 30+ pound boxes of books seem like an obvious place to start paring down.
But now I'm going to try this sleep thing I keep hearing about. Maybe it will seem like less stuff in the morning.
