The "REAL" Food Crisis - and it's hypers.
So, there always has been some kind of food crisis in the world. As a civilised species, we have traditionally scrambled to ameliorate and mitigate such emergencies, by moving things around, discovering new fertilizers, switching to new crops, and so on. I think it is also important to understand that, often, even in our solutions, we have built-in crises, waiting to show themselves later. Examples of this may be the Green Revolution, which encouraged over-dependence on precarious petrochemicals. Yes, more bang for yesterday's buck, but terrible sustainability, and therefore a big problem down the road. And, we don;t normally see those problems - but they do arise, as wars, famines, land abuse, pollution, and of course food shortages.
Other examples include the rush to create Round-Up-Ready seeds, GMO crops, Frakenfish, tasteless GM tomatoes,mono-culture corn, irradiated potatoes, fake meat and mRNA-injected crops - all which have had pretty obvious dangers, not seeming to matter to the immediate bottom-line of greedy corporations.
Regional climate changes and wars have always influenced the availability of crops for market, as we have seen in Southern Europe and Ukraine. Poor land use, overgrazing, salination, etc.., have led directly to the downfall of entire civilisations - as has political and economic injustice or irrationality. The so-called COVID pandemic led to breaks in delicate or intricate supply chains, which led to shortages and rising prices, not to the dissatisfaction of the WEF, et al.
Separating what are natural crises in food production or supply, from man-made ones, can sometimes tricky, if not impossible. But, as said above, there have always been food crises, and that has been true even before an army of saboteurs waged deliberate attacks on our food systems in recent years. (Of which I will post more later). The following links may refer mostly to more natural food crises, sometimes blamed on climate change. BUT - you do have to be careful. Some of these stories MIGHT have been preparatory HYPE, setting us up to expect food shortages which would not in fact be so natural, but which might actually have been planned.
