Note: Urbanism and competitive materialism are two big reasons why meaning has been evacuated from people's lives, and replaced not just by mean world views, like nihilism, Machiavellianism, absurdism and hedonism, but by new religions - of Marxism and Wokism. These are true religions, rationalising and justifying a kind of preying upon others, in denial, with no repercussions from anything like guilt.

As noted, Marx was a theologian. He, first and foremost, built an ideology, on general and assumed premises, purporting to bestow new meaning to man - to urban man, mostly. Meanwhile, to destroy and replace the old religions.

Wokism is a blurry repackaging of Marxism, giving its adherents a false sense of empowerment, by identification with false idols and false promises, and through the endless identification and targetting of external enemies and threats.

The corrupt elites who dangle the strings of the masses of woke puppets do have their own religion(s). Necessarilly, their religion is one which stands in strong contradiction to the religion/ and moralities of the commoners and their established system of power. And so, they practice something referred to as Satanism, pedophilia, and related. These are true religions. Systems of logos. Serving the purpose not just of filling up a psychic void of people alienated from another society, but of justifying the psychopathic harm most of its narcissistic adherents mean to do to others. Even if the concept of Satan does not exist, (and even if his enemy, God, does not exist), these control maniacs are obsessed that "he" does. In order to fully attack you as their enemy, they must fear that you have power from your gods. And so they must also have their gods.

And, vice versa: In order to feel justified and empowered, (by their gods), they must project onto you evil and divine powers of your own. As a consequence. They must convince themselves that they are up to something SUPER-BIG. Shallow narcissists that they are.

(If you're a nihilist, then you are just too easy for them - as prey or as a recruit).

Therefore, it matters not whether you do believe or don't believe that their ghosts and demons are real. What matters is that you deal with these people AS IF they are so empowered. You fight their Satan, whether it is real or not. (Even if unreal, it empowers them).

You moralise and motivate your own fight by assuming that it is real. Or you will roll over and die. I don't know many people who have any meaning in their life wishing for that to happen.

Survival sometimes demands, "religion". Better yours than theirs. Better the means you can control, than an end you cannot.
