Goodbye Queen Elizabeth

Sep 08, 2022 14:22

Queen Elizabeth has died.

As an Australian citizen, who has listened to the BBC most of my life, I want to express my regrets, and my appreciation for a pretty good symbolic leader of a Kingdom now in dire peril. She sat on the throne for almost seven decades, and it must have been terrible to have been so constipated. If you want to know what my mother was like, she was a bit like Queen Elizabeth, except a little more unpredictable, and having an Irish Glasgow accent. I suggest watching the Helen Miran movie(s) on the Queen, and Diana. I am not a worshipper of royal pomp and circumcision. But I do feel that countries need a bonding mythology beyond language and money and politics. Above and beyond. I coincidentally am working on a British flag project, for outdoors. I was not able to set it up today, as my brain has been a horrible tyrant today.

CFS diary: Brain, balance, gait, fatigue, sleep problems prevented any activity other than basic, for the last two days, (at least).

countries - british / england / uk, my cfs diary (2022), queen elizabeth 2
