This 1990 movie looks like a 1970's movie because it was made in Canada. It's about a dopey family who tries to survive in the cold and wet of Alaska. I cooed and sighed, watching a family being all stupidly loving and caring. And making near tragic mistakes. Reminded me of my childhood, when I was virtually a Canadian. Now it's all, "You have to do everything MY WAY or else that means you are attacking me and I will tell!" Oh, wait - that was the old days, too. Frozen. On ice. Like dinosaurs forever. Yep...

A nice but bad movie. An early Sunday morning movie. I do love survival stories. And I have come to appreciate 'bad' movies because they have non-formulaic things going on, and so that's a lot of unconventional, new material, which could possibly be rewritten into something better. Except that non-formula writing gets rejected so much in Hollywood. Anyway, an even worse movie follows this one. I don't know who made it. Or if they ever made it.
