Cliffhangers are worse when you don't know when the show's coming back.

So awesome. SO AWESOME. They worked in like five different Holmes stories there. The Five Pips, the Bruce Partington Plans, a hint of Scandal in Bohemia. I loved that they worked in the canon of Holmes having zero knowledge of the solar system.
And then...Moriarty. I'm not in this fandom but I'm betting that it's wildly divided in opinions over how they did him. Me? I thought it was great. The whole forbidding-ruthless-genius thing has been SO done. I thought it was kinda brilliant that they made him this whimsical man-child who's slightly unbalanced by his genius in the same way that Sherlock is closed down by his.
And a hint of Three Garridebs in Sherlock's uncharacteristic urgency to get that bomb vest off John. Man, the slash just writes itself.
