I am so sick of the religious-right crowd bashing science. Science is against God. Science is evil and immoral. Science teaches evolution and bad things like that. Science does nothing but draw humanity away from God and cause wars and pollute everything. SO SICK.
I read an account of someone preaching this bullshit at one of the hearings in Texas, where the battle continues to be waged over what's going to be in science textbooks. I wanted to reach through the computer screen and throttle them.
Actually, I wanted to ask them some questions. How did you get to this hearing? Did you drive a car? Did a GPS help you find the way? Did you call your friends on your cellphone to tell them you were going? Did you use a computer to find out when the hearing was being held and look up some talking points? Do you watch TV? Do you use antibacterial products? Ever taken penicillin for strep throat? Do you listen to music on some kind of recorded medium? How about movies, ever watch those? On DVD, maybe? Or in a theater? Ever used electricity? How about clean drinking water, ever use any of that? Ever put fertilizer on your garden? Ever bought hydroponic vegetables? Anyone in your family survive cancer? Any babies you know born premature and lived? Anyone you love ever get polio or smallpox? Oh wait, they didn't, did they?
Yeah, science hasn't done much for you at ALL.
