So I've crawled off my ledge a little bit at my earlier post regarding the pregnant-woman billboard. Some of you thought I was suggesting that they put up billboards that somehow depicted breast cancer or osteoporosis, which wasn't the case. What's wrong with just...a woman? Not with a man, or pregnant, just a woman who might be the customer of such a womanly hospital.
Anyway.
So my ongoing movie previews freelance job pays me about half what it should given the amount of work I put in on those damn previews, and my employer fully agrees with this but he can't afford to pay me more. So he's going to put a banner ad for Zero on the site for awhile, which meant I had to somehow encapsulate the book in a 200x150 ad space. This is the design I came up with:
I wanted to get in a) the title, b) the author, c) some nugget of what it's about, d) the fact that it's a romance with two men and e) as much of the fabulous cover art as I could, hopefully both faces. I started with a banner Paul made me that's just their two faces with the word ZERO across them. I think I accomplished all my goals.
Oh, and I can has surgery date! I will be having my surgery on July 16th. Honestly I could have had it next week, but I'm making allowances for my mother's travel arrangements and the fact that if I schedule it to miss the Elton John and Billy Joel concert, Rachel will keel me, and she will keel me slow.
Hopefully this weekend there will be Lori's Birthday dinner with the girls. Next weekend is Memorial Day (can you believe it?). I want to plant flowers this weekend if the weather cooperates and get my patio squared away.
