Mmm, the more I look at
today's necklace the more I LURVE it. The same seller has a similar necklace (they're glass beads made to look like pearls, by the way, but are much smoother and heavier and slightly larger) in all sherbet springtime colors that's twice as long so it can be doubled. WANT.
My necklace fetish has not gone unnoticed here at work. One of the cashiers in the cafeteria told me she looks forward every day to seeing what necklace I'll be wearing. She's quite stylish and often wears nifty necklaces herself, so that was a compliment.
Speaking of compliments I had a nice one yesterday. I was talking to one of my coworkers, one of those scarily smart guys I go to when I need help who's an expert in various kinds of structuring. I had a question for him but we'd moved on and were just chatting. We were talking about volunteering and various other things and he wished me good luck with something, and told me that I was a wonderful warm person with a great sense of humor and he just loves me.
Thanks! That made me feel good, especially since he's somebody I look up to.
I haven't posted any Gyllennews for awhile, mostly because I've been a bit out of the loop, and there hasn't really been any (although he did accompany Reese to the Oscars), but today an article popped up on Variety saying that somebody (I don't know who, I haven't read the article yet, I'm going on secondhand info here) is making a new film of "Damn Yankees" with Jim Carrey as Mr. Applegate and Jake as Jim Boyd/Jim Hardy. That would be AWESOME. I've been hoping Jake would do a musical, he's a pretty good singer. He was thisclose to being cast in Moulin Rouge (the three finalists for the part were Ewan, Jake, and ironically, Heath Ledger). The big question everyone's asking on the boards is who'll play Lola. That's a heavy dancing role and you can't just get anybody and expect to teach them that kind of dancing. The name most commonly suggested is, of course, Beyonce.
