So, an update on my book publishing venture.
I can't give you an exact release date for "Zero at the Bone" because I don't have one yet. My editor has been saying April, but on my contract it says June, although granted that was an estimate made before I'd even submitted the revised draft to them.
My cover artist (the fabulous and sparkly
Paul Richmond, sent me his pencil sketch of the cover a few days ago and it's going to be fantastic. Once he gets it to the art department they'll be putting up a "Coming Soon" thing for Zero on the Dreamspinner website. I'll post a link when I have one.
Also, I've clarified that the book will be available on Amazon and in bookstores, depending on whether or not they stock it. I'm having a little internal debate with myself right now. I'm wondering if I ought to encourage you guys to buy it through Amazon, or through my publisher's website. I have a feeling that I'd get more money from each sale if you buy it through the publisher's website, because Amazon marks stuff down...on the other hand, if I can get Zero onto the Amazon bestsellers in its category, it'll be on the first page of search results when anybody goes to the "gay fiction" section and that'd probably result in greater overall sales. I've no doubt more people go to Amazon than go to my lovely publisher's website.
In the meantime, meet Zero's author, Jane Seville! Who is soon to have her very own website.
Jane Seville owns a bookstore in Columbus, Ohio and can't believe she's actually written one of these book things she's been selling to others for years. Her coworkers are a little surprised that her first effort is about a gay relationship, but she isn't. She grew up in Syracuse, New York where her mother directed the local gay men's chorus, and she attended a women's college. Sometimes it's the straight lifestyle that seems alternative to her.
Jane lives in a house too big for her that she got in her divorce. She shares it with a Newfoundland and a pack of unruly friends who come around every few days to be fed. She's a pathological reader and collects cookbooks, of which she has over five hundred. She frequently visits the Columbus neighborhood where Jack and D live and she's even picked out a house for them. She's waiting to be invited over for dinner.
