Runway

So, kiddies. It's getting down to it on Runway. But what's up with
all these non-designer judges? Natalie Portman, Sandra Bernhard, now
Apolo Ohno? I get that sometimes the best judge is somebody who'd be
wearing the outfit, but come on. Where's Diane Von Furstenburg and
Zac Posen and Badgley Mischka? At least let's get Vosovic in here.

But enough about them. Let's talk about Terri and how awesome she is.
Not only is she from MY TOWN (as is Kelly...Columbus, represent!) but
she rules hardcore. Her designs have been consistently good and
mature, and she's a grown-up. I love her. A lot. I was glad to see
her designs getting some love from the judges last week and this week.
I think she's going to go far.

Someone else I like is Leanne. At first she was one of the Half Dozen
Indistinguishable Women, but now that Emily and Jennifer are gone the
ranks are starting to thin a bit. She's like the bookish hipster girl
that I knew a hundred of at Bryn Mawr.

I like Korto's designs but Korto herself is a bit off-putting. She
always seems right on the verge of utter collapse or some kind of
emotional meltdown. Jerell needs to STOP baring his sternum and
wearing vests, and what was with that little Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy
hat he was wearing last night? His design was wack, too. She looked
like a refugee from the cast of The Music Man. Keith is delusional if
he thinks he's some kind of naturally gifted designer. He's put a
puffy skirt on every outfit he's made so far. Daniel needs to step
outside the box or he's going to be outta there, ditto for Stella.

Then there's Blayne. He was really annoying at first but I gotta
admit, he's starting to grow on me just a little. I have to give him
props for the fact that last night, Tim gave him some editing
suggestions and he actually took them. If you noticed, those
Sgt. Pepper strips that were on his outfit were gone on the runway. I
actually liked his outfit better than Joe's, which I thought took the
athletic/American thing just a skotch TOO far, and Kors was right, the
length proportions on that skort were insane. I thought Kelli's
outfit was really cute but not appropriate for the challenge.

I can't even talk about Suede. He needs to go far, far away. Siberia
might be far enough. Might. It's possible we could still see
his air-kisses and finger-guns from there, though.
