eBay issues and friends from afar

Yay, Miz April will be here on Thursday evening! I'm really looking
forward to her visit. If the ten-day forecast is to be believed
(which it shouldn't be) it will be a beautiful weekend, too. But, of
course, everyone picked THIS weekend to have an event!

It's the Dublin Irish Festival, which I want to take her to, and
Saturday night is Gallery Hop, which I also want to take her to, and
is also The Fabulous Nancy's birthday party, which we are definitely
going to, and is also a fundraising party for my artist friend Sparkly
Paul, which I would like to go to. The Irish Festival is all
weekend so we can always do that Sunday instead, Nancy's party is
non-negotiable, and I don't know if we can squeeze in Paul's party AND
Gallery Hop...it'll depend on how late Nancy's party goes and how long
we stay at Paul's party.

Okay, topic switch. I need an objective read on this.

I sold two Avenue blouses on eBay to a buyer. I gave the sizes but
not the measurements. I'd usually provide measurements, but Avenue is
a very common plus-size retailer and their sizes are standard, and of
course a buyer can always ask for measurements. I did say that I was
selling them because they're too short for me (a problem I often have
as I am long-waisted).

I got a message from the buyer today saying she got the blouses but
surprise, they're too short for her too. She said that her tailor (?)
said that they were actually petite blouses, and she wanted to
know how we could "resolve the situation."

IMHO there's no situation to resolve. The items were as described,
she bought them. Avenue does not sell petite shirts. They do
petite/average/tall in pants, but not in shirts. They are not tagged
as petite nor were they sold to me as petite by the retailer.

My view is that it isn't my responsibility to make sure the shirts fit
her, it's hers. She could have asked for measurements, she did not.
This is the risk you run when you buy clothes on eBay. It's happened
to me a lot. I've gotten a ton of great clothes that I wear from eBay
but I've also gotten stuff that arrived and just didn't fit right,
even if I'd checked the measurements. That isn't the seller's fault.
That's when you shrug and re-sell it or take it to Goodwill.

Some sellers would take it back, I suppose. I didn't specify a return
policy, but I don't think that obligates me to take the shirts back.
