Earlier today, my Lovely Former Roommate joined the modern age and finally got a cell phone. I attempted to send her a celebratory first text message, but hit a wrong button and sent it before it was complete.
Luckily it didn't send properly. I got an error message which read:
MESSAGE UNDELIVERED: GENERAL PROBLEMS.
Really, general problems? Nothing specific. Just, you know...general problems. For some reason that struck me extremely funny. I started trying to think of some examples of "general problems."
Too close to the eventual heat death of the universe.
Planet spinning too fast for signal resolution.
Burnt-popcorn smell never goes away.
Water vapor present in the atmosphere.
Puns aren't funny but people keep telling them.
I guess I'll never know which of these prevented my text from getting to Rachel. Because it was due to, you guessed it...general problems.
