Mmmm. Turkey.
Well, tonight I am braving the masses to go to Kroger and get all the supplies for my Thanksgiving feast. I'm also going to make a batch of hot buttered rum batter to have in the freezer for any and all holidayish gatherings or people-being-over. Now I just have to remember to keep rum in the house, heh. Or else it's just hot buttered batter, which sounds kind of dirty.
I will try and maximize my chances for getting out alive by going fairly early. Besides I'm putting up my tree tonight, because tomorrow night I'm going to make the cranberry sauce and the lemon poppyseed bread, and I have to pick up my pie tomorrow too. Oh, darth_kittius, I'm using your cranberry sauce recipe. Yay!
And I must remember to take my turkey out of the freezer tonight so it has time to thaw. I found a yummy-sounding sausage stuffing recipe with pecans, and I'm even going to make my own turkey stock for the gravy from the turkey bits.
I went to Old Time Pottery last night after my Journey of Futility to the Jeffersonville outlets, where I found something I'd been wondering if it existed...a short string of battery-powered Christmas lights! I can totally use these to light up my door wreath! Yay!
Kinda quiet around the old workplace today. Everyone's kind of distracted. I'm going to structure like a mad fiend until 3:00 then flee to Kroger.
