Birthdays and Benji

I got my copy of "From Hell" in the mail. It's so beautiful. I'm gloating over it. I started reading it last night and once again marveled at its complexity and genius. Then I had dreams about Jack the Ripper.

In other news, it's my Dad's birthday today! I posted a sneaky little entry on their blog. Go wish my Dad a happy 56th birthday if you're so inclined. I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

News of The Benji! I peruse the TWOP boards, your one-stop shopping for anything. Benji's been giving lots of interviews. He said that the minute the results were announced, he started getting offers. He's gotten three Broadway offers, a sitcom offer, and he has been actually cast to play Fred Astaire in a movie (not sure if it's a theatrical or TV, or if it's a small part or a biopic). He also revealed that...brace yourself...he wasn't originally in the top 20. He was an alternate. But someone had to bow out so he was in. Nigel just told him so after the show aired. Dude.

He also said that after the tour, he and Heidi plan to make a series of instructional video teaching some ballroom and swing dances. I'm so buying them.

He may or may not take the Celine contract. Mia and Brian are both after him to take it. He's unsure. He actually wanted to give the contract to Travis, but the producers wouldn't let him. I have the feeling he's not going to take it. THEN he said that his prize money is going mostly to his charity, and also to rebuild his family's dance studio (which burned down in a fire three weeks ago).

Could be BE more wonderful? I don't think so.
