Well, it's happened. The clerks at my local Bath & Body Works know me now. At least one of them does, anyway.
And they are trying to get me to work there.
You know what? I'm considering it. It'd be fun. They said that they have little three-hour shifts and I could work one or two of them per week, and they get an AMAZING discount. And I mean, really. Today I was just chatting with another customer about the foot products and I sold her two different items. Once you're in retail, you're never the same.
It wouldn't be like Borders. That was full-on, heavy-duty retail and I was a MANAGER. This is a small, quiet Bath & Body Works. I've never seen more than ten people in there at MOST. Light stock load, informal cashiering. I must say I miss the personal interaction of retail. My job (although it is the best job ever) pretty much consists of me working in my office.
Hmm. A few hours a week would be fun, not work-like. It'd support my habit, after all. :-)
