A new land-speed record

Mar 15, 2005 09:17

This morning, my total elapsed time from eyes-open to at-my-desk was...drum roll please...54 minutes.

That's awake-shower-wash-hair-dress-dry-hair-makeup-into-car-20-min-commute. That's pretty darn good! But I will never be able to match the Lovely Roommate for speed. She takes the shortes showers EVER. I don't get it. Even when I take the bare minumum shower (wash self and hair), hers are about one third the length. I am in awe of her water-based efficiency!

I really like the new GoF poster. It's very not-fantasy. To me, it reads like a clear signal that with this movie they're going for less kiddie. I'm ALL for that, and this would be the film to make that transition. It's the fourth book that makes that transition anyway...going towards less kiddie and more grownup.

So, thoughts on last night's...

I love it when the show clearly makes me think one thing's going to happen and then makes me wrong. Who else thought for SURE that those two gun-shop brothers were TOAST? And...they weren't! But then...we weren't wrong about Paul's chances for escaping unscathed, were we? I'm bummed, because he started out as a needy, clingy weasely guy and now I like the guy. I don't want him to die! I don't think he'll die. But the fact that he's been all Mr. Orange-d might be the last nail in the coffin of Audrey's great and t00by love for Jack.

But really, continuity? When they were leaving McClennan-Forster, Paul was all "I can't go on!" and Jack was dragging him around, but when they were in the gun store, he was dashing about and shooting and being totally self-sufficient. I guess he got better.

Actually -- this felt like kind of a ho-hum episode, despite all the gunplay. But next week...yay, TerrorMom! Wheee! And Jack handing himself over to the clutches of ImHoTerror!

And let's start the Tony/Michelle reconciliation countdown...NOW.
