Here I go, failing again at blogging. And I've had lots of stuff to blog about, too! Last weekend, I took myself on a Solo Adventure Weekend which was totally 100% awesome. It started with a sunrise hike at a local park with a couple of friends.
Then I took off on my own to far southern Ohio to hike around Lake Vesuvius, a trail I've wanted to tackle for a really long time. It was fantastic and gorgeous and the 8-mile hike wasn't super easy but it was very satisfying. I stayed over night with friends who live nearby and then on Sunday I drove into Kentucky (a gorgeous drive) and went to Natural Bridge State Park near Lexington. Amazeballs!
A few photos:
If you'd like to see all my photos from this hike, they're in a
Facebook album.
Saturday night I stayed over at Nancy and Jim's house; they live very close to Vesuvius. They were lovely and hospitable as always, and I took them a homemade pumpkin pie, which I made with real pumpkin! More on that in another entry.
Sunday I drove into Kentucky and went to Natural Bridge State Park, which was amazing! Then, home again. It was great weather and a great time and I got to see two different sets of friends who live out of town, and hiking on my own always makes me feel sort of centered.
The last two weekends of the month are going to be really busy, but fun!
