Took the Z to the repair shop on Monday, with a list of things needing done. (New knock sensor, oxygen sensors, replacement silicone hoses, replacement harness connections for the injectors and the ignition coilpacks)
I went by today and the engine is in little pieces, while they are waiting for some new bypass hoses to come from Nissan (I had told my mechanic, Greg, that if he found any hoses that looked like they may be a problem, just replace them).
He was teasing me about hating to work on the car, as it is HELLA complicated under that hood. Says it took 2 days to pull everything apart. Glad I got a fixed labor quote...
I have to drop off a new silicone radiator hose Monday morning, the timing belt and radiator fan had to come out, so the old radiator hose is completely exposed, and I had a replacement one on hand for the next opportunity to get it replaced. Now apparently is the time.
Should have it back by Wednesday next week. As long as they don't find something else wrong.
Happy Independence Day everybody!
