Few Word on Time Management

Time Mangament!!! oh..yeah another buzz word in the industry.. rather everyone in the industry would like to attend a session, conducted sometimes by dumb people, sometimes by paying hefty amount. But Why? We usually feel if we had 28 hrs in a day. I do see people relying upon tools like calender alerts available through their mobile, Lotus Notes, Outlook...etc..etc.. Are we becoming real slaves of machines?
Okay..there are two parameters namely 1.Significant, 2.Immediate... to each task upon us, making 2 square combinations.
1.[Not Significant,Not Immediate]..aha..most of us will like to spend time here I have seen some people keep denting their refresh button in their mail box even though no mails pops out :).....2.[Significant, Not Important].. Yes this is where we need to most of our spend our time..but rather we procrastinate it..3.[Not Significant,Immediate]..is supposed to be the quadrant where most of time is spent and finally..4.[Significant,Immediate]..is the resultant of procrastinating the second quadrant..which requires prominent attention and action.
This is the solution..there is no need to attend those session .. spend the time in the second option.
Timer is always referred to the wheel..kaalachakra...Things need to be planned and should be added into the spoke of the wheel, as and when they arise or occur.
Our life is attached to this timer wheel...Life Travels over this wheel.. The wheel contains spokes and number depends upon the capability of the person. Every job is assigned is also tagged with expiry time. In our life every job which comes to us as a pebble needs to be tagged into a spoke of our timer wheel. Now,How do insert the job into a spoke? At any moment we will be processing in one of the spoke..Each spoke is assinged with standard amount of time for processing..if the processing is more than the allocated time..overtime is required!!!!..i mean cutdown the processing on the other spoke..we Continuously move from one spoke to another..each spoke contains the list of pebbles[jobs/tasks] which needs action and needs to be disposed..Therefore whenever a new job arrives we need to calculate appropriate spoke index from the current index..calculate the expiry time and the amount of work needs to be done and insert the pebble of jobs in each spokes[time slots]..yes sometimes the job exceeds the spoke count in the wheel..in such case increase the revolution count of the pebble[job]...If an unnecessary job comes, discard it rather inserting it into the spoke. If we do not remove the element from spoke, the pebble count over the spokes increases ..making the timer wheel much heavier :(...Adjust the wheel such that it completes one complete revolution each day..and your time management is done..just jot down the pebbles and spoke number!!!!....Seem to be good design for the O(1) timer implementation for your software...Soon will publish this software as open source...:(
Huh...back again..No need to rely upon the machines...which makes you more hopeless..I hope we don't end up, machine to remind mom's or dad's Bday..and we should not...:)
