Clare, Ireland - Day 3
So the next day everyone was a little slow to rise... except jet-lagged Noel. So I woke and started the 2 hour process of washing up the glasses (and there were lots of glasses) and crockery and cutlery. This is with the aid of a dishwasher too! I just had to manually wash the stuff that had been baked on or had dried up overnight. That said all the family was quick to wake up and the house was tidied up in no time.
Cleaning done, Peadar took us out for a spot of sight-seeing. First stop, the famous Cliffs of Moher.
The gratuitous "me-in-front-of-a-major-sight" photo. I promise I don't do this that often.
Now Mark and Peadar aren't doing a Michael Jackson dance move. It was actually that windy that they had to lean into the wind - else be blown over. It's funny to look at... perhaps not so if you had that everyday.
One last look at the Cliffs of Moher. For those of your who've seen Happy Gilmore, you'll understand when I say that this was as close to my HappyPlace as I've ever been to.
On the way back to the house, Peadar decided to stop and show me another local beach...
Yes it was that dreary. Wet, cold and windy. Oh and some strange algae blossom made the surf frothy like a beach of Guinness.
Yet you will notice something strange... yes those are people in the surf. Crazy buggers.
Ooh... looks inviting doesn't it? Just feel like jumping right in - just make sure you keep your mouth closed.
Sun setting over the neighbours yard. Yes it was a short day - most of it was spent indoors, going through the gazillioin photos taken from the previous night and culling the not so nice ones.
And on the next day, I left Clare and flew from Shannon airport back to Dublin on Aer Lingus.
Dublin coming tomorrow!
