(no subject)
- Today was a pretty boring work day, to start off with. Nothing terribly exciting was happening and we're all just kind of in this post-production, summer slump and it sucks. But around 3:30ish, the power went out and this wasn't anything unusual - normally, it pops right back on. But TODAY, the power stayed out and we were evacuated. There were many mentions of somebody cooking a cheesy pita and "Ryan Started The Fire" was stuck in my head for the rest of the afternoon (I tried to get a game going of Desert Island: Movies happening, but it didn't take). I mean, it got to the point of fire trucks showing up, so obviously, something was up. But we were allowed back in the building, even though the power wasn't on and at 4, we were allowed to leave. Best thing out of this situation: power is STILL out at work, so no one has to go in tomorrow. Worst thing: We have to work from home. I've never had to work from home before, but I'm not gonna lie, I'm excited at the prospect of working in my pajamas all day, because that's going to happen for sure.
- I feel so behind on livejournal. I didn't check it once last week and then I only popped in on Sunday to reply back to some comments, so yeah. That needs to be fixed.
- This past Sunday when I probably should've been packing, I decided to clean out my DVR and busted through the last seven episodes of Castle. And even though I knew the BIG shocker at the end, there were still some twists that I had no idea about;
I knew that the Chief was dead, but I didn't know the circumstances that led up to it and AHH HE WAS THE THIRD COP. Chief, I am disappoint.
But even more disappointing is that I saw something on tumblr that with the Chief being dead, a dream casting decision could've been Gina Torres because HOW HILARIOUS WOULD IT BE FOR MAL TO CALL ZOE CAPTAIN. MISSED OPPORTUNITIES. I want it and now it'll never be (ugh, story of my fandom life)
For as much as I love these procedural shows (Castle, Bones, Hawaii 5-0), the only problem with them is that I want more characters than crime, ALWAYS. I love the stuff with Alexis and Castle, I want more Ryan and Esposito, I want to see Beckett relax and hang out with Lainey, and I want the show to acknowledge Lainey and Esposito more often (I have been waiting for them to get together since season 1, it would be nice to be thrown a bone once in awhile) (oh have I mentioned how happy Lainey and Esposito make me? SO HAPPY. I bet Lainey is super sassy with Esposito and Esposito is so whipped and he just commiserates with Ryan, who is like join the club buddy and they go out for drinks and are just awesome and fist pound together. Minor characters, I heart you too!)
- Things I found that I love: Zooey Deschanel & Jean Ralphio from Parks & Rec singing "You Belong To Me" from The Jerk on the ukulele and also Zooey Deschanel singing a karaoke version of Crazy by Patsy Cline and it is presumably, awesome
