Goodbye
The anger and guilt burn hellfire-hot in Sam’s belly, because he should have done something to save her. Anything. But it’s all too little, too late.
Eileen meant more to him than he wants to admit; like he’s lost someone who could have filled an empty space within him. She was smart, and funny, and she got the hunter’s life, and who he is and why. She was the kind of woman he could imagine making a life with.
He hopes that she’s safe now; that she’s found some peace with her family. She deserves that, and so much more.
A/N: Well, what we all feared would happen, has. I feel hurt and disappointed, but I think Jared did a beautiful job of showing us Sam's grief. I loved the badass Winchesters, and Mary's scenes with Ketch, and how we see her when she had her will, and then when she didn't (I loved seeing the vulnerable side of her, how she begged for Ketch to kill her, and how she fears for her boys). Also, there's something that I love about the boys being left in the bunker to slowly die, like how they've just signed their initials on it, made it their home, and now it's going to kill them. So much potential! Anyway, I had to focus on Sam and Eileen here, because I wanted more.
