A Brother's Chant
Dean breathes deeply, sucking down that poisoned fog like it's his cure, his salvation. Sam's not even surprised that it doesn't work.
The infection burns through him, and he knows that he's going to die, and that this time Dean can't undo it. Sam's already gone.
Dean will chose Amara, because he can't be alone, and because that's the way she planned it; Dean's immune to her infection, and together they'll erase the world and re-work it from scratch.
“It's OK. It's all right. I'm right here.” Over and over; a brother's chant, a brother's promise, a brother's lie.
A/N: Wow, what an episode! Whether you loved it, or hated it, it sure got people talking and my feed was buzzing with episode reactions and people desperate to talk about what happened. I think I lie somewhere in the middle; I loved the vast majority of the episode (even the Metatron scenes - shock horror!) but I was a little sad to see the end of the Absent Father trope that we've seen since the very beginning of the series; first in John, and then in SPN!God. But I'm excited to see what comes next, to take a step forward into the unknown, and to develop a whole new story line that's going to cause a huge ripple in our Show. Bring it on Show!
