Just a quicky....

My last remaining Gramp died three weeks ago. It wasn't unexpected but was heart wrenching none the less. We were very close and I'm not sure how well it has sunk in. I wrote a piece for my uncle to read at his funeral which I knew my Gramp would love. We both shared the same sense of humour so I wrote about all the funny times we shared and all the things that made him great. I'm sad that I couldn't read it myself (there is not a hells chance I could have read it - I was bad enough when they bought the coffin in).

I'm going to try and get back to writing more; for my Gramp. He always said I should write. He used to love the silly little stories I would write as a child. In me there is this great idea for a novel that I'm scared of committing to the page incase I don't do it justice. Also, time is a bit of a constraint. I work full time, have horses and dogs to look after, gym to go to and friends to go out with. I'm determined this year I will make a start even if I only write for an hour a week.

I've just read the most AMAZING series of books thanks to the works book club. It's The Hunger Games/Mockingjay series by Suzanne Collins. I really want to discuss this indepth a bit later but in the mean time has anyone on my friends list already read it? What are your thoughts? If you haven't you really need to read it. I finished the last book in the series 3 days ago and I still can't stop thinking about it.

reading, real life, familial stuff, books: the hunger games, family
