A few weeks ago my mum went to the doctors about a swelling in her neck she'd had for a few months. She had blood tests taken which came back fine. But to be safe the doctor booked her in to go and have a scan at the Hospital ( Read more... )

Thanks, babe. Luckily they couldn't find any cancer cells but they're not sure what it is. They want to run quite a few more tests which will hopefully shed some light on it. They are thinking Sarcoidosis though.

How's things with you? x

It's good to know it's not cancer but I hope for all your sake's they figure out what it is soon. Medical mysteries are the worst kind.

Things are pretty good for me. My grandpa was just in the hospital because of a blockage in his leg but everything went well and he's coming home today. I also just got a Macbook so I'm looking forward to pretending that I'm a musician and film maker and generally just enjoying the shiny awesomeness of it. :)

They truly are. The sooner you find out what it is the sooner you can start treating it etc as well. I'll be glad when we know cause at the moment it's a bit like a dark cloud hanging over us all.

I'm glad you Grandpa is getting better. What kind of blockage was it?

Ohh, I'm very jealous of your Macbook. I covet it. When/if my laptop ever dies (I hope not soon as really need to back it up) I think I'm converting to the Mac world...

Indeed. A couple years back my uncle was sick and they had the hardest time diagnosing him.. it was miserable, and for awhile there it really wasn't looking good for him at all. I think in the end they decided that what he had was close enough to lyme disease that they treated him as if he had it, and he did get better.

It was a blockage in the artery in his leg. It wasn't a complete blockage but they wanted to clear it out to reduce the risk of problems further down the line. Considering that he is 80 years old, he's doing really well.

I love it so much so far. I'm still learning the Mac vs PC differences but overall it actually hasn't been too bad. My old laptop won't load up unless you have it plugged in to the wall(like it would turn on but just sit there on a blank screen).. which I guess probably means a battery issue, but it's also from 2003 so I figured it was high time for a replacement.
