The first day is bearing down on me...
Shit! My first day has come around so quickly. I can't believe that from tomorrow I will be employed full time. This is going to come really hard but the money will be so good! The fact that it comes a day after the clocks go forward sucks, I always find it hard to adjust when the clock changes.
I start at 9:30 (usual hours are 9-5 but I may be able to work 8-4 which would be better) and I have to ask for my new manager when I arrive. If he is anything like he seemed in the interview I think we will get on well. He's really chatty and friendly which is a nice change from the managers I have had in the past. My friend who works at the company says they timetable you in the first week so you have a meeting with everyone you will be working with (you know; I'm so and so and I do this etc). It all seems pretty organised and there a few great benefits that I will enjoy making the most of; the booksales and discounts sound awesome. My friend got three of the 'Dark Tower' books for 75p each recently.
At first I will be doing some general admin (minute taking etc) and stuff for the production and picture research departments. As the company does a lot of internal promotion/recruitment there is a chance to move up and across in the company, which is great if I fall in love with another aspect of publishing. The girl who had the job before me got promoted within 6 months which sounds great but I really don't expect it to happen for me that quickly.
So I guess I will just have to go in and see how it goes. I'm a little worried I will get lost; the building is HUGE and I can easily get lost in Sainsburys *facepalm*.
I really feel like I should be nervous but I'm not at the moment. I feel oddly calm. Usually I get nervous about the most stupid things but first day of work...pfft! What is there to feel nervous about? :S I'm sure nerves will kick in tomorrow morning, I hope not though!
Also, a really huge thanks for all your well wishes in my last post! It's great to know you guys are all wishing me luck. You all rock hard. I will keep you all posted on how it goes!! ♥♥♥

Before actually starting work I thought I had better make inky_splotches pretty like I've been threatening to. I wasn't sure when I would get the time for an over haul again so I thought I had better get on with it.
So come one, come all and behold the beauty that is Inky_splotches new look!
Both the user info and the main layout have been made over and it's theme...Ashes to Ashes! Woo!
So if you have a spare five minutes let me know what you think and if you spot any glitches!
I am hoping to start posting some new icons there (Heroes, Ashes to Ashes & Lost) next weekend. So keep your eyes peeled!
