First of all I have to say Happy Birthday to our Son, Mr. Virgil Dean de Forrest, Jr.!!!! Happy 23rd Birthday Honey!!! We are just so proud of you and I hope you have a wonderful day!!
Can you believe it’s July already?!?! Goodness where does the time go?
So our 4th of July weekend was so much fun!! Things didn’t go exactly the way I had planned but that’s okay because it was still wonderful!!
Friday right before I get off of work my husband calls and informs me that I am to head home and get myself beautiful because he is taking me out dancing. I start to argue but he hangs up. Yeah you know that makes me mad but I’m just okay so we are gonna go out for a little while. I get home and my babysitter and my husband are already there. I get all dolled up for my man and we head out. When we get to Midnight Rodeo our friends Annette and Jim are already there and waiting for us. We played pool and danced until 1am!! I love hanging out with my husband, he knows how to make you feel like you are the most important woman in the world. I am so lucky to have a man in my life that knows how to treat a woman like a queen and always makes me feel like royalty. J
Saturday morning I got up bright and early and headed off to Target to purchase a gift for our adorable niece Princess Trinity. I bought her 2 adorable outfits, a very cute dress up dress and a perfect Princess tea set. I ran through Starbucks and headed home to wrap gifts and get my own little Princess ready for the party. When I got home that wonderful husband of mine had my child awake, bathed and ready to be dressed all pretty for the party. We got ready for the party and headed out. Of course as soon as we hit the freeway the raindrops started falling out of the sky. The rain was really nasty and it congested the freeway so it made us a little late for the party. Madelynne was so worried that we wouldn’t make it to the party. We finally got there after an hour and a half on the road and Madelynne had a complete blast!! She got to dress up, do some fun craft projects, and have an amazing tea party with her little cousin and her friends. It was all so adorable!! I’m thinking about having Madelynne’s next birthday party with the same lady. After the party I helped my niece Jennifer with a little bit of cleanup and just sat and chatted while Madelynne and Trinity played. Jennifer is pregnant and her new little one should be arriving sometime in December. I can’t wait to meet the new little one. I have 2 other nieces that are pregnant too! Well actually Reba just had a baby girl and Leslie should be having her baby towards the end of the year too! This family likes to breed!!!!
Sunday was just spent around the house. I cleaned and organized the bathroom. I also cleaned out and organized my closet, linen closet and all of my bathroom drawers. I did all that while Virgil sanded and cleaned up in the office. He also painted some and just really cleaned out stuff in there. We didn’t get to completely finish the painting but it looks so much better in there and I am so excited to almost be done with it. Of course it will only mean that we are going to be working on another project but nothing will be as big as this project. When we start on the rest of the house my mother in law is going to come help out. She is a master painter and it will help out so much to have her there.
Monday Virgil had to work a little bit so I got up and played a little WOW with Tara. Okay it was a lot of WOW but she helped me level up to a 36 and train on all my skills!! Thank you so much Tara!!!! Virgil came home and all of us played for a little bit and then we cleaned up and packed up the truck and headed for the country. J We got out there kinda late but it was great to be able to see all the stars and just smell the country air.
Tuesday we woke up a little early and whipped up some yummy breakfast. We sat around for a bit and chatted and then headed out to the pasture to burn the burn pile. Annette has been hard at work out there and the pile was pretty big. Virgil burned it down about half way and I knew it was safe for me to go so Madelynne and I headed into town to pick up some stuff for dinner. I love the drive into Brenham. I love seeing all the beautiful country houses and all the cattle. Our friend Krisztina and her daughter Matilda came out too. We had a great time riding around on the dirt bike and 4-wheeler. Even in the rain!!! Usually when we go out to Annette’s she cooks this big meal and just waits on us hand and foot. Don’t get me wrong I love her cooking but I thought it would be nice for her to just enjoy herself and I do all the work this time. I marinated the chicken and had Virgil throw it out on the grill while I whipped up some fresh roasted vegetables and a great salad. After dinner we played some pool and waited for it to get a little dark so that we could burn the fire pit for some smores!!! We have a huge outside fireplace out there so we just lit it up and roasted some marshmallows. It was hot and the fire was hot so Madelynne was not interested in roasted them but she sure did want to eat them!! After about 6 she was done. Around 9pm we drove the truck down to the end of the driveway and put the tailgate down and got comfortable. The fireworks started about 9:15 and went on for about 20 minutes. They were so beautiful. Madelynne kept saying “Just Lovely”. She made us laugh so hard. After the fireworks were done we heading back up to the house and just hung out for a while. We headed home about 11pm. When we got there we just unloaded the truck and passed out!!
It was a little hard to wake up this morning but I knew I was going to have a busy day ahead of me and I wasn’t wrong. Today was so busy and a little stressful. It’s almost over through and I am looking forward to heading home and enjoying the rest of the evening with my wonderful family.
Have a wonderful evening everyone!!!!!!
Loads of Love,
