The Golden Globes and Brokeback Mountain
I love the Globes. Besides the Oscars, it's my favorite awards show. I just wanted to use this space to say a few things about the show, for the one or two people that read this. :)
Hugh Laurie - is it unnatural how much I love this man? He is so classy and sexy...I can't get enough. Well deserved for House.
George Clooney - Damn, man. Speaking of sexy. He always has the best speeches.
Drew Barrymore - WEAR A BRA. Thanks.
Reese Witherspoon - LOVE her. She's so professional and put-together...and her speech was wonderful, especially the part about her family. So sweet.
I loved that Mary Louise-Parker won and that she paid tribute to John Spencer. I'm not a fan of Desperate Housewives, and Weeds is a great show, well deserved.
Could Steve Carell be any cuter? As much as I love him, Zach Braff was ROBBED. Again.
Sandra Oh was adorable - and her dress was my favorite of the night.
I wish that Entourage and Jeremy Piven had won because Season 2 was genius, but other than that I was happy.
Yay to Brokeback Mountain and Walk the Line! By far, these were my favorite 2 movies of the year.
I saw Brokeback Mountain on Saturday - and loved it. It was heartbreaking, the scenery was gorgeous, the performances were absolutely amazing, it was everything I thought it would be. Everything that was said about Heath Ledger's performance was true - it was so gut-wrenching to watch Ennis fight his feelings and keep everything bottled up. Jake was amazing too - Jack was coming from a completely different viewpoint, but his heartbreak was still so powerful. It's such a small, quiet film...just a slice of life of these fascinating characters and before I wanted it to be over, it was over. Really interesting movie.
