Happy New Year!

I'm so bored today. It's one of those days where I keep thinking it's Friday.

A few things:

- See Walk the Line. I think it's the best movie I've seen all year. Phenomenal performances by Joaquin and Reese.

- Brokeback Mountain is coming to my theater tomorrow! Too bad I'm going away this weekend. Next week though, I am seeing it finally, dammit!

- I got Lost Season 1 and HOUSE Season 1 for Christmas! They are both so good.

So...I did a meme to pass the time.

TEN Random Things You May Not Know About Me:

1) I lived in Germany for 4 years as a child. Army brat.
2) So far, I’ve 3 cats as pets in my life - Muffin, Muffy and the current one, Maddie - that’s partly where my screen name came from. Do I have a thing for M names?
3) I have an unhealthy love of chicken fajitas. Especially those from Chili’s.
4) I can curl my tongue. It’s hereditary…my dad can do it, my mom can’t.
5) I apparently look very much like my mom - everyone we meet says it, but we cannot see it at all. Then I found a picture of her as a teenager and it freaked me out - it looked exactly like me.
6) I have size 11 feet. It is very hard to find shoes that fit, and when they do fit, of COURSE they are expensive. At least I have an excuse to buy expensive shoes.
7) I was an only child for 18 years, until my mom got remarried and I suddenly had a stepbrother.
8) My mom met my stepfather on the internet back in 1995, and they were married in 4 months. It’s been 10 years this April. I believe it was a whole kind of fate-type destiny meeting…they are like two peas in a pod.
9) I get my eyebrows waxed every 3 weeks. It’s about the only girly maintenance thing I do.
10) I can say all the states names in alphabetical order, from memory. Now that’s random.

NINE Places I've Visited:

1) Italy
2) Germany
3) NYC (oh how I love it there)
4) Mexico
5) Aruba (my favorite island EVER)
6) Florida (where my mom lives)
7) Minneapolis, MN (in December. Brrrr. Wouldn’t recommend that month to visit there.)
8) Portland, Maine
9) Guatemala

EIGHT Ways to Win My Heart:

1) Have a good nice and dry sense of humor that works with mine (Anyone who can make me laugh is in, automatically. Friends, boyfriends, must be funny.)
2) Be able to cook (men who can cook are awesome)
3) Be a good listener - even to my rants because they tend to be about ridiculous things sometimes
4) Have a great sense of adventure, can have fun wherever he goes
5) Be easy-going
6) Easily fit into my group of friends
7) Don’t try to solve all my problems. Sometimes I just want to vent.
8) Love movies as much as me (of course)

SEVEN Things I Want to Do Before I Die:

1) Get married to the man that fits the above criteria and have a great time
2) Start a family with said man and spend as much time as possible with them
3) Get a dog
4) Go to California and see all the wonderful things I want to see there - San Francisco, San Diego, Hollywood, the Golden Gate Bridge, LA, Malibu, the stars homes
5) Go on a cruise to Italy and the Greek Isles (like my mom is doing this year for her anniversary)
6) Go to Australia
7) Find a career (NOT this one) that I love to do until retirement

SIX Things I'm Afraid Of:

1) Losing my family
2) Losing my friends
3) Skydiving, bungee jumping…anything involving free-falling
4) Huge million legged centipede thingies *shiver*
5) Never finding a job where I could do something I love
6) Driving in snow and/or ice. That might prompt a move to Florida before winter comes around again.

FIVE Things I Don't Like:

1) Celery
2) Having to get an IV - regular needles are tolerable, IVs, not so much.
3) Reality TV
4) People who talk in the movie theater like they are in their living room.
5) Diet soda of any kind.

FOUR Ways to Turn Me Off:

1) Be rude to waiters/waitresses/salespeople, etc. That won’t win any points with me.
2) Talk down to me.
3) Bad grammar. Don’t be ignorant, learn the correct way to speak and write.
4) Be homophobic and/or make derogatory comments of that nature.

THREE Things I Do Every Day:

1) Abuse the snooze button in the morning. 6:45…6:55…7:10…7:15…
2) Drink coke in the morning - bad, I know…some people have their coffee, I have my coke.
3) Check my e-mail. I’m a bit obsessed. I have no idea how people go multiple days without checking.

TWO Things that Make Me Happy:

1) My best friends - Jason, Brad and Christine - no matter what, I know they would do anything for me and I would do anything for them, and I always know I will have a blast when we’re all together. The three of them are like a kick-ass comedy team, my face and stomach hurts from laughing after just 2 days with them.
2) Good food - its such a weakness of mine.

ONE Thing On My Mind Right Now:

1) What the heck am I going to get for a 10-15 dollar gift for a holiday party I’m going to on Saturday? That’s what I get for waiting until the last minute.
