Today's good thing

Today's good thing: I had a productive day. J, not so much. He's still trying to get caught up on his lost sleep. I did some painting, planted some flowers, did some laundry... and OMG, it was so hot outside!

All was not good, though. My unreasonable idea of being tolerant to people who aren't white or straight is alienating people(mostly ones to whom I'm related) left and right on Facebook.

Then there's money-related family issues.

Robbie still hasn't talked to me since I refused to pay his insurance bill a few weeks ago.

We have finally decided to move from Verizon to Straight Talk. Verizon is costing us nearly $300 a month right now, we can cut that in half with Straight Talk. J's dad and sister have phones on our account. We didn't offer one to Larae, J's dad gave her his old flip phone. We've been paying for her phone for like a year(only $10 a month), and J's dad($90 a month), literally for years. J called him today to tell him we'll be moving to Straight Talk next week. I had to take over the call because J started coughing. His dad's opinion seems to be, "I don't care who we have service with, as long as I don't have to pay the bill." And I explained to him we won't be adding Larae's phone to Straight Talk, as it would technically go up to at the very least $30 a month, which, with us still paying his bill, would kind of defeat leaving Verizon.

He seems to think we should pay her bill. I'm sorry, she's had plenty of chances to get a job(including going back to Walmart, where literally anyone can get a job), and the only way she has one now is that their cousin called her and asked her to sit with his mother during the day.

Also, currently, we split 700 minutes between our 4 phones. So far, Larae has used 394 of those minutes. I had to text her and tell her to slow down so we don't end up paying extra. Also, I told her her dad is going to try and come up with an idea for phone service for her. Her response? OK.

I'm more okay with paying my FIL's part of the bill... he has helped us a lot over the years. But Larae... no.

family, good things
