Idea 1: work, live, travel through Norway and europe
-pros: travel, work/trade, new people/places/experiences, work on dairy farm above arctic circle
-cons: expensive, alone, expensive, lots of planning and commitment required
-----settle and work now for money to go. Estimate: $7840 for 6 mo. at $40/day
Idea 2: ride bikes from Ft. Collins to Portland
-pros: travel, bikes, friends, cheap
-cons: buy new equipment, job before/after?
-----research equipment and get good deal. Estimate: $900 for a month of food/fuel/equipment
Idea 3: volunteer for Educo or find another wilderness school to work for
-pros: live/work in the woods, good experience, resume build, fun, not money demanding
-cons: requires settling for a time, job, place to live (where?), distance from friends?
Idea 4: ride with craigslist girl from ft collins to washinton dc and get out early to visit Evan at Gettysburg and maybe Charlie out in new york
-pros: travel, adventure, visit friends i haven't seen in ages
-cons: money?, how to get back to colorado
Being Realistic:
Norway seems fun but expensive. Riding across the country seems great, but the jury is out. Bike touring this summer and working in the field could possibly be combined. Need to figure out what to do for now. Visit boulder and fruita. Settle in ft. collins or steamboat? (Settle = job and place to live?) ft. collins seems more likely because of money/stuff to do.
So... adventure and explore with friends in colorado, find a job in foco, find a cheap place to live, enjoy food co-op/bike co-op/food not bombs/concerts/friends, get ready for summer adventures (touring gear, etc.), and commit to it.
If anyone has advice, stories, or other words, I'd like to know them
Thanks and love
